RQTs – Enhancing performance training

Following the publication of a number of documents in 2015/16 including Evidenced-based teaching: advancing capability and capacity for enquiry in schools by the NCTL, and the Government’s white paper: Excellent Education Everywhere, it is clear that politically there is a move to ensure that research informs education practice so that the higher expectations that we have for children can be realised by learning from what has proven to be effective. There are moves to create a new standard for continuous professional development, as well as to provide, an open platform nationally, for schools to share their research informed practice. With higher expectations for pupils and the fact that they are open to all sorts of pressures on a daily basis, building emotional resilience is a key factor in enabling children to become confident and independent learners.

The Developing Teacher Programme

The DTP is a professional development programme to support primary school teachers in moving their classroom practice to either securely “good” or “outstanding”.

The Developing Teacher Programme is a professional development programme to support primary school teachers in moving their classroom practice to either securely “good” or “outstanding”.

Through a structured six-week coaching and mentoring programme, class teachers develop their practice and confidence to ensure they feel secure in taking children’s learning forward.
